However, many simple transactions such as sale of real and personal property, transfer of land or house to children, extra-judicial settlement, demand of payment from a debtor only require 1-3 documents. A simple legal consultation and drafting of documents will ensure the proper execution of transaction. Many Filipinos, because of their experience of expensive legal services, would rather deal with their legal concerns on their own by asking friends or relying on the promises of the people close to them. After some years, they would be confronted with the problem that they have to enter into litigation to protect their interests. Because of the lack of competent legal advise, a fairly simple legal concern has blown up into a tedious and complex case in the court. Experiences with the courts surely cause a headache but they may be avoided if competent legal advise is sought at the first instance. Also, contracts relating to simple transactions need not be complex to protect clients' interests.
